Nordics join forces at Osaka World Expo 2025

Find the Nordics under the same roof

The Nordic countries Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland will participate at Osaka World Expo 2025 with a joint Nordic pavilion aiming to strengthen ties with Japan and Japanese companies. Finland's participation in the joint project will be led by Business Finland.

Highlighting the Nordic values and way of living

The Nordic pavilion and participation at the World Expo 2025 will reflect the shared Nordic values and ways of working and living. The Nordic societies are built on trust, and the countries commit to sustainability, both of which are essential pillars for building a better future. Trust, optimism, and collaboration are also keys to enhance partnerships in the Japanese market.

Together with our partner companies, we bring an aspirational vision of what a sustainable, trust-based world could look like. Designed by Italian architects RIMOND, the Nordic pavilion will be a 1 200 m2 timber structure that evokes timelessness, and sustainable thinking. It will house the Nordic exhibition area as well as a rooftop with a restaurant and a Nordic garden, in addition to other meeting spaces and a business centre.

Key themes at the Nordic pavilion are Green Transition & Circular Economy, Mobility & Connectivity, and Lifestyle & Wellbeing. In addition, the project also incorporates cross-cutting themes Sustainability and Digitalization, that are visible in all activities of the pavilion.

Finland brings HAPPINESS to the table

Finland is the happiest country in the world and we aim to show this to the world during Finland's events at Expo 2025. Finland Day, the Finland's National Day at Expo, takes place June 12, 2025. Finland will also organize a few thematic industry days and participate in the Nordic joint theme days.

Finland is fully committed to the common Nordic values and mission of the Expo project framework, and in addition, wants to highlight the strengths of Finnish companies at Expo. Partner companies such as Nokia, Finnair and Metsä Group have already joined the project. These and many other companies are showcasing Finland's services, technologies and sustainable developments during Expo 2025.
